APOE4 carriers using hormone therapy showed 6–10% larger entorhinal cortex and amygdala volumes than APOE4 non-users. The entorhinal cortex matters here because it's among the first regions affected in Alzheimer's disease, often before the hippocampus.

Volumes were adjusted to whole-brain size before analysis, so this isn’t a head-size effect.
